Ask for leave you can no longer leave the party for a 2 day period at 0 cost. I found this to be quite unrealistic. To terminate the contract early, you must now bribe the commander. Unlike abandoning the party, this will not cause any criminal rating, relations loss and reputation loss with the faction you are serving.
Step 1. Get bow Step 2. Get horse Step 3. Get good. Realistically though it’s better to just sue for peace or bribe sometimes. Or find/sneak into a town and wait there a while. Against bandits, barter with them and pay for safe passage. Against lords, try the same but they won't always accept.
maybe you're not gud enought for them. Now track them down and kill them all. The whole "leaving kingdom" thing is total sh*t. Lords are changing clans faster than their underwear. The way to go atm is to just chop heads all day. I've noticed that some clans will leave you no matter what.

A good way to do that is to take up a mercenary contract with the faction you like instead of becoming a lord directly. You'll be able to fight their enemies, increase your renown and also your relations with them. That last part is pretty important because when you do become a vassal, you'll need the support from other lords to be granted fiefs.
I don't have a high criminal rating with any kingdom. I've also entered a mercenary contract with a kingdom after they've already declared war. I'll travel with an army then suddenly all of my relationships with the different clans within the kingdom will drop and I will no longer be in the contract, only a day after starting it sometimes.

If you keep your holdings they will declare war and all members will receive a massive relation debuff towards you. If you form a kingdom after leaving (through the quest), you will no longer be at war with them. The latter might be a bug. #4.
if you renounce your oath respectably, you are given a -20 relationship penalty to all clans in the kingdom, which is even more than you lose from landowners for lighting their homes on fire. This seems excessive, and in my situation I was a mercenary and even if I spent several months with the faction it should have been understood that by not becoming a vassal all that time I was not looking
Although there is a bug (or maybe a feature in Taleworlds' eyes) that you can recruit mercenary clans into your kingdom by taking their leader prisoner, and talking to them while they are your prisoner. They will join, but then they will accept a mercenary contract for some other kingdom and leave your kingdom and take their fiefs if you have
There is no penalty hit when you do so. The contract never expires or needs to be renewed. At the initial talk when you ask to be a mercenary you are told how much pay you will get. When you battle the realms enemies you gain influence, the influence is then converted to denars at regular intervals.

The mod used this 'bug' to introduce Warband's mercenary contract feature, creating a valid alternative to leaving a Kingdom without a reason. The devs fixed this in an unexpected way. Instead of introducing some new mechanic(in the game's code there is an option to leave the kingdom because of lack of payment), they just made leaving a Kingdom
